Indian Brand in the league of Big Boys: Crusoe

I have been noticing these creatives in hoardings and print and i been thinking that we have another International brand now standing up to the big boys. the brand placement was simply awesome and the creatives had done justice to the brand message in all the sense.

A little more research into the brand revealed that Crusoe is purely home bred and belongs to Coimbatore based Jagannath textile company . the brand’s unique positioning credits goes to the agency-Black Swan who seems to be have worked right from designing the clothing to designing the packages and even the store format. Select stores are now open in Chennai,Mumbai and soon in a lot of cities.

I spoke to Brand Head and she told me on how her team was playing slow and steady in extending the brand message throughout the country. she said that they saw the void space in the category of premium inner wear and that the space only had International brands taking on to each other like Hanes ,Jockey and so on.It’s a commendable effort and so far the script looks perfect and i’m sure they will re-write some figures in the domain very soon.

Anyway, you could expect more write-ups about team Crusoe because i am likely to visit their facility in Coimbatore and probably talk business too.

The Next Big Thing:Hospitality & Organized Retailing

2268869422_9b4161fdbcEvery industry has its peak period! We all heard of the IT Boom, The Real Estate Boom and now it’s time for Retail & Hospitality sectors! I need not boast too much about it since everyone heard about the Big Fat Budget that has been set aside to make things real. If you haven’t I would like to have a dig at some facts here.

Let me start with the ‘Big Fish’,the mighty ‘W’: Wal-Mart will be setting malls in India in association with Sunil Mittal’s Bharti Group. Other international big players like Carrefour, Tesco and Auchan have also shown interest in this industry. Indian retail industry is expected to grow at a compounded growth rate of 11% and will be a $450 billion industry by 2010. DLF will be spending Rs. 1600 crore on developing malls over the next four years.

Reliance Retail is planning to splurge Rs 2500 crore for opening different formats  and the Kishore Biyani-bharti-walmartowned Future Group, India’s largest retailer group, will be investing Rs 3600 crore in 100 stores in 30 cities, increasing its retail space from 3.5 million square feet to 30 million sq feet by 2010. Future Group also plans to have 100 Big Bazaars up and running even before Wal-mart arrives in India. Nice welcome that will be for the American giant

Now all those money, ever thought about the potential of this sector ?In a sharp contrast to the retail sector in developed economies, retailing in India – though large in terms of size – is highly fragmented and unorganized. With close to 12 million retail outlets the country has one of the highest retail densities worldwide. For this very reason the potential is too huge.

And how this happened all of a sudden would be the next question that might pop up in our mind! Well Indian middle class now is too ‘demanding’-That’s where it all happened. We all wish to have more choices, best quality and importantly more than just ‘buying’, we want the shopping experience to be entertaining!

Given the size and the purchasing power of the Indian consumer, the road ahead can only get smoother and it is only a matter of time before the domestic retail industry is on par with its western counterparts.

Recession or steep market conditions the Retail & Hospitality sectors by far deals with the basic necessities and hence seldom get affected by such factors. But anyway the good news is that: “Picture abi shuru hi ho raha hai” or simply its all just beginning !

Indiavibes creates contents and program of its own giving its users ultimate freedom to watch their choice of contents and appreciate the nature and demands of internet spectators; ultimately the user’s taste and priority will be the content.

The trend to online media shows our technological development. This venture is going to be a trailblazer in the history of media, said Mr. Sasi Kumar in his inaugural address

“Web TV” concept has never been effectively tried in the market because the challenge of making visually appealing content to the general public is not an easy task. The backbone of this concept is the confidence; it can create visually appealing, quality content that has not been tried in any other mediums in the market before. The team is backed up by people who have immense experience in terms of developing innovative concepts in the most challenging situations.

“The vibrant team behind the endeavor shows us the new un-experimented media arena. Though it’s a niche segment it has its own role in the society and this New Year will bring all success to the venture,” Said Mr. Charles Dias MP.
Indiavibes covers all categories like fashion, music, films, business, technology, blogging, lifestyle, current affairs and almost everything that this century and the years ahead would ever need. We are focused on targeting people and not on celebrities. For Indiavibes what is more important is reaching to every individual. Public can access Indiavibes’ contents from http://www.indiavibes.tv from January 1, 2011 onwards. For best user experience, it needs to have atleast 1 Mbps broadband speed though. Through 3G these can also be accessed through mobiles. The company is looking for partnerships with ISPs and broadband providers to ensure more data traffic to these providers and it also helps to reach people better.
