Exclusive:” Its a Dream Come True “- Asif Ali

Asif Ali,The ‘RITU’ fame as he has been known is all set for a Dream ride of his career. Even being his close friend,it took me almost two months to meet him in person and spend some quality time and when I did get the chance at the sets of “Best of Luck” movie sets, here in Ernakulam I thought I will write it down for you guys.

Asif tells me how all his friends complain on how he doesn’t call them or don’t pick up the call and how they say that he has forgot old days or relations. But the fact is no one really knows how last 2 months went for him, sleepless nights, back to back shoot and loads of travelling. All those tiresomeness is very evident in his face. He has completed 3 movies in this course of time, all with the biggest names in #malayalam film industry.

His career started with ‘RITU’,directed by Shyam Prasad the movie gave him a head start as a next generation “Cool Hero material”.The song “Kukku kukku” was pretty a hit and in fact we all associate him along with the song. But all that was just starting of a great road ahead !

The next movie project “Apoorvaragam” again by hit maker Sibi Malayil is sure to add to glitz to his career as the next generation dude.Do hit the Fan page by clicking on the link for updates about the movie.

From the sets of “Apoorvaragam” he flew to calicut to complete the 10-day schedule for next big flick,Sathyan Anthikkad movie “kadha-thudarunnu”. Acting along side senior actors like Jayaram, Mamta Mohandas , Innocent, KPAC Lalitha, Mamu Koya, Lakshmi Priya, Sreejith Ravi and Chembil Asokan was a unique experience he quotes.

Now he did not get even a day gap between these two schedules, poor thing ! And all his friends & family seems to only have complaints but then he says ” Its a Dream come True ….”.

With “Kadha-thudarunnu” to release this month end and “Apoorvaragam” on May 14 ‘th,Asif still has no time to be excited because he is busy shooting for “Best of Luck“, a fun filled movie with really exciting casting and directed by M A Nishad,Asif kitty just gets heavier and more exciting. Please do click the link for the official website & here for Fan page.

After the success of Vairyam , M A Nishad’s latest work titled BEST OF LUCK, is starred by Prabhu, Urvasi,Kailash and Archana Kavi of Neelathamaara fame; Asif Ali and Rima Kallingal of Rithu fame; Aneesh,Sruthi Menon,Jagathy Sreekumar,Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saleem Kumar,Bijukuttan ,etc. The movie is mainly focused for youngsters. Now that is an awesome combination.

Well,I am looking forward to have him settled and have a blast to celebrate his dream journey.Wishing all the very best for the road ahead. God Bless !

Apoorva Ragam:a movie by Sibi Malayil

I was very excited to be there at Gokulam ParK Inn to be with my friend Asif for the Pooja of his next movie,Apoorva Ragam:an anusual Love story, and …

The occasion was blessed with the presence of God’s & Goddesses of Film fraternity and also was an auspicious day for the director who celebrated 25 years in Film Industry,Sri.Sibi Malayil. I could hardly keep up with the people who attended the function but the celebration spirit at the venue was at its high that Sri.Nedumudi Venu even said that this is the first time a movie’s pooja has been done in such a manner.

The Cast include Nishaan(Ritu fame),Asif(Ritu fame) & Nithya(Kerala Cafe) and as the caption says the movie is an unusual love story. Seeing the still taken by Ace photographer Shaan itself portrays how the movie stands off from the ordinary.Seeing this picture (below) I mocked Asif asking if its remake of 3 idiots(LOL…).The movie is set for a single schedule shoot of 40 days in Ernakulam. Anyway wishing him all the very best and prayers…

Yes was different !

Yes was different !
It is said that stars die off eventually and sometimes they die-off right after they’re born(Now don’t ask me who said that …LOL).Yes Indiavision, the youth channel  had a similar story. i am not sure how many of you may have heard of such a television channel. Yes was different ! Not just for the sake of saying, you could watch my youtube videos and you will know what i mean. The team YES consisted of hardly 30 professionals and all of them had one thing in common-campassion towards what they’re doing. i would bet that there would’nt have been such a team ever created in any other television entities. More than a job, we all were like a family but a family unguided or may be one with a lack of leadership or vision. It’s hard to explain what went wrong but i would like to talk more on what went right.
i had never dreamt of having my hands on such a sphere even in my wildest imagination but then somehow it happned that one day i found myself at the Indiavision studio for audition as a VJ. The audition if i am right was taken by Sajith Lakshman a.k.a the ‘chief’ guy and everything went according to he script then on. i was selected by the panel which were the then program heads Mr.Prakash menon and Anil ayroor. From there on i was made to feel that televisoin is where i belong. Anyway YES did make its own cult that by the time we had our soft launch other telecvisoin channel’s immediately started to copy the layout, the style, the edit pattern to even the camera frames.
Anyway YES was’nt all that a failure for people involved with it. Asif Ali(RITU fame) & Archana Kavi(Neelathamara fame) did make their career out of it.i very much miss the old days with YES and wish those days will be back some day.Asif,Me n Archana was  the “3A’s” of YES(like “3idiots”..LOL).VJ Rakesh now RJ Rakesh at club FM,VJ Andrine now writing this blog that you are reading..LOL are some other names that could be accounted.
i always wanted to share the tales of “Asif Ali” & now that i have a way to do it i must say how happy i am for him. When i met him,he was doing 1′st year BBA at Marian college. You would rarely meet guys with such strong will and strong dreams and fortunately i had the honor to meet such a person. i was already in YES as a VJ when my friend Ajeesh introduced me to Asif who would then very openly tell anyone that he wanted to be an actor. People never talk out about their dreams because they’re scared. Asif was’nt among them;he knew that saying it out openly only make it a step closer to his dream. His friends in college would mock him when he said that his movie would release is Ernakulam Sarita theatre and i was very suprised to see this guy still say it loud and open. But see the power of dreams, his first movie-Ritu was released at Saritha theatre.
God’s grace he will be bigger than he want to be ! “Insha Alla” as he would say.
Asif was the program producer and VJ of a very unique and exciting program called “BULB”. The shoot process was very interesting that we’ll have a million stories to tell if anyone among our crew starts to speak about this program. it was one of the masterpieces tha YES created.
Unlike Asif, Archana was’nt all that convinced about her inner actor ! she never had the plan to be a part of the fil fraternity. she was just a normal “paagal si ladki” as she would then say.But fate and yes, some of her decisions that she took simply turned Life upside down.
Archana was the Love guru and her program “Bloody Love” was quite a hit.(i know you would be thinking aobut the program names we come up with…LOL…Bulb..now Bloody Love…well ask our RD that ! He used to name the programes.)
Me a.k.a Vj Andy was the Gup-Shup guy at “Cocktail”,where we used to talk about anything under the sky.Sajith a.k.a “The Chief” was the producer of the program and like Bulb the shoot process is always fun here. Find out…
i was also the program producer and went on to do many a programs,Bloody Love being one among them. You would find my program promo’s on my youtube page.
As for me the journey is still not over, may be ! There is a time for everything they say ! I Agree !
Looking forward for comments from some fans of YES ! Anyone ???

“No shortcut to success”:Asif Ali

Asif would seem to be just the guy next door but what makes him different is the career he choose after he finished is BBA at Marian college, kuttikanam.while others choose to go for higher studies or hunt for jobs he knew he was born for something else and may be his will alone was his strength to actually make him different.

Asif Ali,one of the new faces introduced by Shyamprasad in his upcoming film RITU has more than what he looks like.He likes to be called”kutti-Tiger” and i guess that name suits him well for what he is.We got few minutes with him to know what’s he made of ?

How did it happen ? Did the movie choose you or where you after it ?

Well ever since my not so great results of my first semester BBA exams came in i made up my mind that pen, paper etc are not my best freinds. It took me some time to actually believe the”actor” in me but after the results its was more or less like my only choice like you have that feeling or something in your head tells you”Kid you’re made for cinema”…you know something like that.

So then joined Indiavision as VJ/producer and then i never had to look back.

Sound liks another moviescript but was the journey very rosy ?

Not at all,My parents wanted me to go for higher studies and the even people around were pretty not so encouraging about choosing this career. But then there were people who believed in me especially My mom who’s been my strength.

So how did RITU happen ?

Well since i was in television building contacts was easy,Cuckoo mam had actually promoted me for attending the audition of RITU and the Shyam Sir saw his charcter alive in me.

So how was the experience ?

Working with Shyam Sir was like the greatest thing to happen to me.He is the most cool director one can work with and the entire team of Ritu was unique.I myself feel so lucky to be associated with such a project.

What plans ahead ? new project ??

Well,Ritu is just releasing next month and new projects are still in discussion.

Any messages for youth who wish to come in similar line ?

Stay focussed and have strong faith in yourself and understand that there is no shortcut to success.
