#4 Winning Hearts of the Opposite Sex for #Dummies : Surprise em

Chapter #4 :Surprise em

Now we all love surprises and while building a #relationship building up the excitement or momentum really counts. Now surprises can be of many forms,I am not taking about buying a gift here exactly. But the topic is here Surprise em about You. Tricky Ah ? Well yes,it should be. Like I have mentioned in the previous posts maintaining a curiosity factor is very important. Never let them think they know everything about you. The logic is simple,we will be interested only to know the unknown. what is obvious & direct doesn’t appeal to us or anyone. So the surprise I am talking about is to make them think something good or bad about you all of a sudden. The point is just to play with their curiosity.

This is an area where your talents can be useful, projection of your talents that is. Well I can site this with an example,in my college days I has met this girl whom I somehow wanted to be acquainted with. And my image in college those days among that batch of students was that I was the ultimate level of attitude. And this image I had did help me to get her. It was quite simple, she had already started seeing me as a big time attitude guy. Only thing I had to do was Surprise her on how simple & down to earth person I am,whatever be the actual facts(LOL). And yes it did work for me ! Well all what I am saying is,give them a piece of you that they would have never seen or even thought about in you.

That will ensure that the curiosity just heightens to a level that, the opposite person is now in a mindset to know more about you.Or otherwise you ought to be lucky enough to be on the right place at the right time. So if you’re not all that confident about how luck is going to be with you,go on and Surprise em.

Everyone wants Guarantee!

2703652680_f9b1021e16

Life is a very mysterious gift that we never know the real value of what is has bestowed on us. And maybe we don’t find it a too big a value worth having a dig on? Our parents never had a clue on what or how we will be as we get older; we ourselves don’t know where we will be some years from now. That my fellas is the biggest gift we all have and trust me it’s worth a dig!i am sure you all would think about that every time you might have seen movies like ‘Curios Cases of Benjamin Button’ or ‘Paa’(Hindi) or any movies that relates to real life problems. But after that ‘some’ time, Life is just an abandon piece of Crap.

In spite of all the ambiguities or uncertainty that surrounds us we love the term and mostly go to any extent to have had the phrase “Guarantee” on everything that we do or would want to do!  It’s simply a plugin that is installed in our mind’s software and the moment you un install that believe you me fellas, you will be set free for Life! Our lives are so much deeply into that phrase that we could relate to any spheres of Life; say for instance you guarantee for the job you’re doing, for the course we’re studying, for the investment we’re making and even if we have to get a loan from Bank(LOL…).

The moment we come out this mind-frame you will see what Life really is; what its true purpose is. It’s simply not about following what everyone else do, it’s about believing in yourself in spite of no guarantee. Free the chicken inside you, Free yourself!

Confessions of an Entrepreneur Part II

April 2009,Bangalore: So me & benjith had our initial project report which needed to be supported by fund. Now,I had very less of though running in my mind in terms of planning baptism of our dream. I went along with Benjith to both our close colleagues/friends seeking some help in terms of the required capital. It is during this period I realized one very important thing of Life & that is when you need help, all these social creatures that otherwise swing around our shoulders are all experts in one act which can be termed as the “Vanishing Act”.

But then both of us where big headed Bastards,we never wanted to give up on what we planned, come what may ! Unlike my partner’s family,my parents were not all that game with the idea of me starting my own business ! I cant complaint, after being from a normal middle class backgrounds where no one has a business background and more importantly I am a qualified Engineer which required/demanded me to act my breed,as of an engineer that is ! But having throughly studied my course,I knew that wasn’t my cup of tea.

Though my family wasn’t all that encouraging in my decision,I loved the feeling of “proving them all wrong one day” ! And that sweet feeling is like the greatest pleasure you can get that I could feel it even when nothing happened ! And trust me I decided to go ahead not because I had atmost faith my business plan but only because I decided to stand by decision of not following the conventional and may be that’s the reason our company had the tagline ” Conventionally Progressive” ! I know ! You must be thinking what I smoke ! Such an Irony Life is….

So then after having days spend behind finding capital in Bangalore we were so successful in getting screwed that we just wanted gt back home ! So we decided to get back to Cochin and may be find some way out ! Although one thing was decided, that we are doing it !

May be it was the city, though Cochin is more like an metro Lifestyle, people here has only one Agenda “to be better than your counterpart” but that’s one thing that changed in me in the limited period i stayed in Bangalore ! I was such an idiot not to understand that in Life the only person we need to outbeat is simply ourselves ! Just my Mantra changed and now it’s all about ” being better than what you were yesterday” ! I thank the garden city for that one lesson !

And it continues….

Confessions of an Entrepreneur Part 1

March 2009,Bangalore : “Jobless” is the word i would define my status quo as. The dream of becoming big in Media Industry had dwindled as the operations with Yes Indiavision came to a standstill ! It was just me among my friends at YES who wanted to be with Media ,the other two aspired to be on the bigger screen and God’s Grace and their hard work has got them what they want ! We used to call ourselves ‘AAA’ and I was lost in the casual way of Life with friends & celebrations that I never made an agenda for myself. May be it’s just the way I was,Treat Life as it comes;no much of planning ! My friends started their journey towards their dreams and I was the only one left back and like that scene in 3 idiots where the two friends stood shocked seeing the results of aamir Khan,I stood startled not at myself but how my friends took off ! LOL ! it’s a human nature i guess, but I was and am very happy about & proud to say that “I was there with them….still am ..”!

I went to Bangalore about this time to work with my long back colleague & friend Benjith and we got quite settled with activities in Bangalore for a month or two ! I really din’t make my mind on what’s next, cos at that point I just wanted to be occupied with something and that was quite the Agenda ! Both me and Benjith had one common vibe/agenda/motive make money without bending down before anyone or working for anyone to look it sound simpler. Though things were happening slow, may be this common vibe of ours did make both of us think of opportunities we could explore and we spent days & nights behind finding that one idea.

And one day morning Benjith came up with this idea of having this Privilege Card/Discount Card which included only the best brands ! though it did not sound all that exciting,we saw a lot of space being unexplored ! So we finally decided to go ahead with it !

The following days where full on research & thoughts on how to go ahead, name of the brand was the first thought and its brand placement ! I remember sitting in @cafecoffeeday for hours everyday to finally have come up with a name and thus Smiley was born at a CCD at kamanahalli, near the place i stayed then !

I made up the material on placement of the brand & stuff plus the logo design was also done ! Now,it was time for finding the funds ! We estimated the startup cost to be around 10 lakhs, which was a small amount considering the scale of the activity. Since I already mentioned how “jobless” I was ,so we needn’t talk much that I had not a penny to invest ! The same was with benjith, but he had a building of his own which meant no expenses for taking an office ! We began meeting people in Bangalore, mostly our friends to fund the project and the story continues in the next part !
