Finding Happiness

Everyone always wanted to know what the secret  to Happiness is and we all have our own definitions to it.Some say its money ,some say its success, some say its achievements, some say its love and so on goes the endless definitions. But trust me,there is no real secret here. It’s all in the basics,Happiness is a simply an emotion of content and inner calmness. It’s all in the mind i tell ya mates and if you don’t believe me you can take instances from your own life to prove it.

Anyway i ain’t here to prove something, just wanted to share what i think is the secret,as i said its simply in the basics. This pyramid here shows the basic chart or say the basics that i have been mentioning here. All these are simple yet very string factors that decides our life and the way it goes.

It’s all look so simple from here but the fact is if one of the layers get disturbed everything changes. Our mind tends to think positive & creatively only when the bottom layers are achieved. i wouldn’t want to say which of the layer is most important.Lets just say all are complimentary in way or other.

The bottom line is,get the basics done & rest will happen by itself. God Bless !

Entrepreneurship is about fooling your perception of reality

When I passed out from college, I was quite directionless of which way to head. There was very little of plans and most importantly there wasn’t clarity of what i wanted to be. All i knew i want to make mark of myself in this world. As time went on, i got introduced to the idea of Entrepreneurship and these perspectives where a collection of experiences & insights from friends & organisations i have met. They have had inspired me to an extent that it did make a difference to the way i saw things. I have written about these companies in 10 innovative start-ups from Kerala.
Coming from a middle class family where high marks & huge salaries hold the key to existence and in my case having no earning member, made things quite difficult for me. Though this was the reality, it did not stop me from being foolish enough to start-up my first company. Though even while doing that, I was just flowing with that thought of foolishness. But it did pay me off, we had break even within 6 months and product did wonders for the company but ill fate that i finally had to move out from that org. Because i thought i had to do something bigger. And that’s how the idea of setting up India’s first web tv was born, though everyone around me did not consider it to be viable model I did cross all that logic to launch Indiavibes.
Now this is where the tricky part is, entrepreneurship is about crossing those hard realities out there. You need to fool your own perception of reality if you want to crack the code. There are situations where you quite feel that “is it really possible??”. Now while this question comes if you follow the path of your hard core logic & reality , then you will be soon quitters. Win or fail does not matter here but either way, either results the idea is it should be BIG !
Big enough success so that others will follow you or Big enough failure that you could master it the next time or probably just quit and go out & preach people about “Entrepreneurship” !

Loose Control = Happy : When was the last time you were Happy ?

Now,often is Life we come to a situation where we think on the big question -” Are we doing the right thing ? ” OR ” Are we making a wrong/bad decision ? “. Now think this,Who decides whats right or wrong ? who makes the call here ? I am sure this is one question we won’t have one correct answer but instead hundreds of opinions. Often in Life we are bound by a set of rule book which we ourselves don’t have a reasoning. Rules in my opinion are just a way of holding back on your happiness or may be a way of finding happiness. It’s pretty an irony how rules can make you a slave of your own world and also how it can set you free at times.

Have you noticed that in Life ,the only thing that consistently can get you excited is taking a break or breaking one of those rules or just loosing your control. Now,I really have no logical explanation to support all this but loosing control mostly feels close to heaven and I am sure its all the same for us. We tie up ourselves with rules and commitments which sometimes pose no logical reasoning to be there like that.

Often we create a cocoon of rules,I have had my share in having one golden rule and that is to have none…LOL..well Rules sucks mate. Trust me on that. There is no right and wrong or bad and good, its all just made up fuss of the social creature inside us. Why to have rules, when they can’t keep you happy, rules they say are meant to keep things intact and in a proper system !! Ahh ! Screw it…One life,Live it Large folks !

Customer Satisfaction Sucks !!!

Yup,it took me sometime to digest and understand this as i was reading “FLIP” by PeterSheahan. But then looking by my own experiences and by what the book said,i too agreed with it.

Ever since we ramped up our sales of Smiley Privilege Card,i used to think customer satisfaction as a prime index for our growth ahead but little sooner did i realize that customer satisfaction is merely an index of what we condition the customer to expect, not what he or she really wants and the big question here is what does the customer really wants ? And biggest question of all is does the customer know what he wants ?

Our product can only outclass competition when we can predict what the customer wants before he even thinks. i know this sounds weird but if you take a close look at ourselves as a customer i am sure sometimes even we don’t know what we expect from a particular product. But then if the product itself has set itself a necessity in our minds, then that i say is the selling point of any product.

We can never measure the demands of a customer and design a product. Look at the best in the business for e.g Apple never had a survey with people asking if they would like to own a portable music player with radio or some cool interface. They just just went on to create something out of the box. They went out there and created a necessity among their customers and that’s how it all happened.

So the bottom line here is that you can never sell something if you focus on customer satisfaction because that would just make you a puppet in the hands of your customer and you truly can’t commit to it.Design your product with a niche that no one else can and in way where your product creates the necessity among customers.
