Now,it seems that starting a #mobile service is a trend these days, that everyone seems to be busy setting up one in India. I even lost count of the number of operators in a circle, but that’s good for the customers. The mobile services market are now very competitive and in terms of customer services and offers I guess all the moves has been tested. As I said good news for the customers though. Uninor launch was a fanfare event but the service as such hasn’t strike enough chords in the urban market to my knowledge. But what has worked was for Tata Docomo, with their customer base touching close to a million in Kerala alone.
Well, there two new fresh entrants into this over-crowded market.Yes,you heard me right matey’s-2 No.s.#Etisalat,mobile services should be the first on to go with their launch scheduled(unconfirmed reports) by February end.Etisalat had picked up 45% stake in Swan Telecom in September 2008, and formed the joint venture Etisalat-Swan to operate in India. The JV has licenses to operate in 13 of the country’s 22 telecom circles.
The second player is Videocon Mobile services(#Datacom..if I am right) which will also get its much awaited services launched in coming months.
Way back in 1994, when licences for cellular services were being awarded, the Videocon group tried its luck but failed to bag even one.”Our bids were too conservative,” recalls an insider. Now thirteen years later, the group is once again trying to foray into the telecom space. And for this it has tied up with no less a player than international telecom major, Verizon.
Leo Communications, a group company has joined hands with Verizon Business, a division of the US-based
$88.1 billion Verizon, for operating in the international long distance (ILD) space. But how far the tie-up goes as far as Datacom or the mobile services are concerned is still a mystery. But Videocon’s foray should be interesting making it the only brand to be having both mobile handsets & mobile services(My guess mates..).Videocon had apparently acquired Datacom, which until November 1st, 2007, was owned by Jumbo Techo Solutions (90 percent) and Oswal Fertilizers and Chemicals (10 percent). It’s important to note here that Datacom was among the few companies given a letter of intent. The entry of BSE listed Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd who picked up stake in Datacom and there on issues within the promoters had delayed the launch so far but now Datacom row ends as Nahata agrees to sell stake to Dhoots of the Videocon Group things are looking green for the service to start very soon.
And it’s been said that all these players will be in almost all circles by august 2010,so that means we need to carry now 2-3 mobile phones(Happy news for the dual and triple Sim mobiles..)

Good to find that there are blog owners that worry about their blogs and not post all kind of inutile stuff but rather try to maintain it ideal and notable for the interest of their visitors. You’ve done a great job and i thank you for that and also for not shocking me with useless garbage and spam.Thank You
Hi – really good web site you have made. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to issue a comment to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically pleasing. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a merchandising firm. I have always enjoyed functioning with computers and am attempting to learn computer code in my spare time (which there is never enough of lol).
